• I missed out on the piece I wanted! Will you restock it?
The best thing to do is to ask me to restock! If I get enough requests for specific designs in a recent release, I will usually open a limited preorder for the most popular designs shortly after the initial release. If there's a sold-out piece you need to own, please send me a request through the Contact form!
Even if I don't get enough requests to feel comfortable restocking a piece, it is good to know which designs people want to see return, and you may see them come back in new colourways later on 😉
• Do you take custom orders? Can you modify one of your designs for me?
Unfortunately, I'm not able to take custom orders at the moment. I currently outsource my laser cutting (as I don't own my own laser cutter), so I get the parts for each design cut in bulk, which lowers the price of the individual components, as well as the price of the finished jewellery piece. Creating a one-off piece would simply be too expensive for me, and that is a cost I don't feel comfortable passing on to a customer, either.
Each design is cut and assembled before they go on sale, so for the same reason I also can't modify an existing design. I hope to eventually have my own laser cutter, but until then customs just aren't possible.
• Do you do preorders?
Generally, I will release a collection without the option for preorder before the collection release. However, if popular pieces within a collection sell out quickly, I will usually open a capped preorder shortly after the initial collection release. These preorders will generally have a wait time of four to six weeks between ordering and shipping.
• The piece I want is Sold Out on your website. Do you have any extra stock or seconds available?
The short answer is to send me a request through the Contact form!
If a piece is listed as Sold Out, it is very rare that I have any extras, but I sometimes do have seconds available. These are pieces that have slight damage (such as small chips to acrylic or wooden components), or defects such as larger pieces of visible glue. Usually these defects will only be visible up close, and these pieces will be sold with a $5 discount off the standard full price of that piece. From time to time I will advertise Seconds for sale (to reduce the clutter in my studio!), but until then I'm happy to sell them individually on request.
Another more round-about option - I usually order extra components, particularly with fragile parts, in case of breakages during the assembly process. This means that I sometimes end up with almost enough components to make a full brooch after all the others have been made and sold. If I have no seconds available, but most of the components to make the piece you want, I can keep those pieces aside and order the missing piece(s) the next time I get new designs laser cut.
It does mean an unspecified wait time (usually until I'm producing my next collection, which could be a few months away), and I may substitute colours and/or wood types if I'm not using the same materials as in the original piece. This just might mean one slightly different-coloured part of your brooch - such as a different wood variety in a frame - which would make your piece truly unique! This process does require patience, and as such I don't charge until the piece is completed and ready to be shipped. These pieces are generally sold at full price (unless any part is defective, in which case they are sold as seconds).
